I hope this finds you all well, and making the best of this strange time. Things may be crazy, but we still have much to be thankful for! I want to take a moment to update you on a few things…
First, thanks for joining us for our online service this past Sunday. We are so thankful for all who tuned in and for the encouraging feedback we received. We’re preparing another service in the same format for this week, so please plan to be with us again. Remember, you can access it through the church website, our church Facebook page, or our YouTube page.
Second, I want to thank you for continuing to give generously during this difficult time. Some of you have asked about giving options (specifically online giving). Here are some answers to your questions:
- We use Planning Center for our online giving, and you can access this through our website (http://gbcnewfane.com/members/online-giving), the Church Center mobile app, or via text-to-give (Text the amount to 84321 for instructions). Some of you have experienced problems giving through the mobile app. We are trying to get this fixed, but in the meantime please use the website or text-to-give option.
- When you give, you have the option of choosing several different designated funds. The Elder Fund is a benevolent fund used to help with financial needs that arise in the body (and sometimes in the community). As you can imagine, this may be a particularly difficult time for those among us who are not able to work. If you’d like to help with these needs the Elder Fund is a great way to do so.
- If you’d prefer not to give online, please feel free to mail your gift to the church or drop it off.
Third, we are putting systems in place that will allow us to keep in touch with the congregation at large, but as you can imagine that is increasingly difficult during this time of separation. If you have a specific need, know of someone in need, or are interested in being a resource to meet needs, please call the church office or email Amy Talladay (email@example.com).
Lastly, please continue to refer to the church website or Facebook page for ongoing information. You may also call us or stop by the office. Our current church office hours are: Tues., Wed., & Fri. from 9 am to 12 pm.
Let me leave you with the apostle Paul’s words from Philippians 4:4–7:
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Serving you because of Him,
