Fall ministry update

Hello Grace Bible Church!

It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end already, and that we are headed into a new school year. This has been a crazy year, and feels like a whirlwind. But God has been good to us in spite of all the uncertainty, and we are thankful that even in unsettling times we have a calling to keep serving the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven. That gives us hope!

As we enter this new academic year, we wanted to update you on our plans for Fall ministry activities. Obviously, our ministry calendar will look a bit different this year due to Covid-19 and the restrictions put in place by NY state. The following outlines the changes in several areas, with the understanding that we will continue to reevaluate things each month in hopes that we’re able to get back to a full schedule soon.

Children’s Ministries

At this point, we will NOT resume our Wednesday evening children’s programs (AWANA, nursery, etc.). We encourage our parents to continue to work through the AWANA books with your kids (more are available if needed), and we will will reevaluate the feasibility of these ministries on a regular basis in hopes of getting them up and running soon.

We will, however, be restarting Children’s Church shortly. We anticipate meeting in the auditorium, which will allow for flexibility regarding spacing, activities, etc. We are in need of some help in this ministry. If you or your family are interested in participating, please let us know.

Youth Ministries

Our youth ministries (Jr. & Sr. High) never stopped during the past 10 months. They moved to a Zoom format, then back to in-person, outdoor meetings once the weather permitted, and will continue in the Fall. The kick-off date for both (Jr. High on Wednesdays, Sr. High on Thursdays) is September 16th and 17th. They will meet outside when possible, and move inside with precautions when necessary.

Adult Ministries

Our mid-week inductive Bible study will resume, beginning on Wednesday September 16th. We will pick up where we left off in the book of Hebrews. This will take place in the Fellowship Room.

Our Sunday evening Praise & Prayer will also resume once again, meeting every other Sunday at 6:00 pm, beginning September 20th. (Fellowship Room)

Our young adult ministries will continue as they have been through the summer, meeting weekly under the leadership of Pastor Nate.

We are still thinking through other ministry activities, including the feasibility of the Living Nativity. Please pray for us as we seek to honor God in these difficult decisions.

Thank you all for your understanding and continued support. You, as a congregation, have been amazing through all of this. We are so thankful for you! If you have questions or concerns, please contact the church office. We’d love to hear from you.

May our great God be glorified in ALL we do!

Serving you because of Him,

Pastor Dave
